What is Invisalign First?

Children with orthodontic problems usually display early signs of these issues at young ages, while they still have their baby teeth. Invisalign First is a reliable treatment for addressing orthodontic issues while permitting the mouth to grow and develop. Conditions that we treat with Invisalign First include crossbites, crowding, protrusions, open bites, and spaces between teeth.

Ideal patients for Invisalign First are between the ages of 6 and 10; the technology is designed to accommodate baby and adult teeth. Invisalign First can be followed by additional Invisalign phases, if needed, to shift and reposition adult teeth.

Preparing for Invisalign First

We take 3D images of your child’s teeth to produce their aligners. It only takes a couple of minutes to take these images, and there’s no need for messy impressions. The clear aligners for Invisalign First are created to perfectly fit your child’s mouth. We use software to plan your child’s treatment plan so that it fixes their specific issues.

Wearing Invisalign First

Each aligner is worn for a week or two before it’s time to switch to a new aligner. The aligners for Invisalign First are removable, making it easier and less time-consuming for kids to brush and floss their teeth. This allows them to maintain better dental hygiene and reduces their chances of common dental woes, like plaque, cavities, and gum irritation. Patients are permitted to remove their aligners when eating and drinking, enabling them to maintain their normal diets.

What happens after Invisalign First?

After finishing Invisalign First, all patients must wear retainers to hold their teeth’s new positions. Depending on their orthodontic needs, they may need to proceed to Phase 2, also known as Invisalign Teen. We usually wait until they’ve lost all their baby teeth and have their adult teeth before moving to Invisalign Teen.

What are the benefits?

There are several benefits associated with Invisalign First that make it a top treatment for pediatric patients:

The Invisalign First system is comfortable and convenient

Unlike traditional metal braces, there are no metal wires or brackets with the Invisalign First system. Instead, the pliable plastic used for the clear aligners fits perfectly against the teeth and won’t irritate the sensitive cheek or mouth tissues, maximizing our patient’s comfort. Kids don’t have to worry about breaking a wire or bracket when playing sports, and there are no dietary restrictions involved with Invisalign First.

Invisalign First is effective

Invisalign First uses SmartTrack material that makes it easier to predict tooth movement; this helps us minimize treatment times. SmartForce attachments ensure that each aligner creates sufficient force to move teeth in the correct direction. Invisalign First’s technology enables us to provide many patients with a treatment time of 18 months or less.

Invisalign First is practically invisible

One reason that Invisalign First is popular with kids and parents is that the aligners are barely noticeable. Kids and pre-teens feel more confident when wearing Invisalign First’s clear aligners, allowing them to flash their best smile, even while undergoing orthodontic treatment.
